Regulatory compliance in PHP's and IOP's with focus on JCAHO
Presented by
Juddi Brennan, MS, MFT, Director of the Outpatient Services at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital in San Diego, CA. Juddi is a member of the Board of AABH and is President of the Southern California AABH and represents AABH on the Joint Commission Behavioral Health Care Professional and Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC).
Regulatory compliance is perhaps the most daunting challenge facing all of us as managers in the behavioral healthcare field. There is pressure to achieve successful results when being reviewed sand no amount of preparation can seem to reduce the anticipatory anxiety. This workshop is being provided by AABH's representative to The Joint Commission and an accomplished survivor on the regulatory battlefield. She will provide insight into overall strategies that can prepare your organization for the challenges, and will emphasize ways to accentuate the positive aspects of your unique program. With the aid of "recent Joint Commission reviewed" program directors, there will be a discussion of important new focuses, and strategies to meet common problems. Attendees are encouraged to send in their specific questions which will hopefully be addressed during the session, or soon afterward through email or phone contact.

Community Based Treatment and Organizational Cooperation
Presented by:
Terri DiPietro, OTR/L, MBA is the Director of "The Center for Behavioral Health" Outpatient Services at Middlesex Hospital located in Middletown, CT. and has been an Occupational Therapist for 25 years working primarily in Outpatient Behavioral Health. This workshop will consider the results of a successful Connecticut model which engages both hospital based and community services in a concerted effort to work with difficult clients to insure that their needs are met while decreasing their use of more costly and restrictive acute care services. Cooperation is the result of planning and hard work as insurors see the value of clinicians working across organizational boundaries to meet the needs of the individual and the community. Real life solutions to complex issues will be the benefit to those that attend this webinar.
